embarcadero escalators are always down

I'm just wondering if the techs aren't fixing it properly in order to justify their jobs. I mean I see them always down every 3 days or so. The escalators I'm referring to face towards the Ferry Building.

The Esclators are supposed

The Esclators are supposed to be in a certain direction at a certian time, the agents are supposed to make this happen. It may be somebody is dropping the ball or you are showing up just before the directional change. Either way feel free to ask the agent if it's supposed to be in that direction at that time. If they say yes and you don't think it should be that way then by all means, fill out the comment card and a line supervisor should look into the matter.

no what I'm saying is it's

no what I'm saying is it's always down for repairs. Also the direction from time to time is in the reverse direction. Sometimes I arrive work at 7:45am and upon reaching the escalators it is in the down direction and vice versa. It doesn't matter, I don't mind taking the stairs but was just curious why it's broken more than working.

Hmm, I noticed that at

Hmm, I noticed that at another station last night as well. I think it may be that they are waiting for parts. Rain water and dirt make things pretty rough on the escalator. The repair people are pretty dilligent and from what I remember they usually had them up and running before the end of my shift. I would suspect they are spread pretty thin and focusing on the elevators (Wheelchairs)first then downtown e.t.c.

Otherwise I dunno and would suggest you call customer service (510) 464-6000 and ask them about it, they should be able to explain what's going on. Sorry, I couldn't be of better help
