Mid-Day Dublin/Pleasanton Trains

Do the SFO-Dublin/Pleasanton trains really need to be shortened during the day? Passengers come in from the airport throughout the day and not only during rush hour-and plenty of those passengers have loads of luggage with them. A 4 car train full of bikes, luggage, and normal commuters during mid-day is just not logical. Since the Dublin Line goes to the airport, shouldn't Bart try to cater to these travelers with more cars rather than trying to cram them into shorter trains?

I agree! When they used to
I agree! When they used to run 9-car trains in the summer I'd leave 20 minutes earlier (and get to work 20 minutes earlier) just to catch one of those rather than a hot, crowded 4- or 5-car train. Today was especially bad. A lot of people on the SFO-Pleasanton line have luggage, and that takes up space. I bring my bike every day and I see almost every day that each car has 2 bikes taking up even more space. Sometimes I ride 9-car trains home when I'm the only one in the car from Pleasanton to Lake Merritt. I guess there are more cars available then, but it doesn't make sense to run long trains with low ridership and short ones with high ridership with lots of luggage.
