I think personally that the female train operators look much more professional in polos.

I was working the yard one day and was pressed into service. I had a banana yellow T-shirt, Levi's, a pair of 1985 white Nike hightops with the yellow swoosh. The only BART gear I was sporting was my "vintage" G.I. radio on my hip.
The few people that did see me didn't even care to comment but I think the fashion police still want to question me.
