the BART Plus pass was just fine until AC dropped out, cheap and easy to use. for the money squandered so far on t'link, we could have had more frequent BART trains AND better feeder bus service.

I will use a smartcard only

I will use a smartcard only if I can can still get my commuter check ticket. Having a beeper card is not worth 75 bucks a month to me

Agreed, TreoBART.

$75 a month isn't worth looking cool with an EZRider. TransLink, however, will accept CommuterCheck benis because it is run by the MTC and not the EZRider Administration Center.

As for BART Plus, I heard great things about it. But because of the Governor's budget several years ago, millions were chopped from AC's operating budget and it just wasn't feasible or generating enough revenue.

Just wondering... Will those of you who are waiting for the roll out of TransLink be taking the bus to BART? Do you already? Will TransLink effect that in any way?

Count me in as one of the folks waiting for the TransLink roll out for BART. I will use TransLink when BART starts to accept it.

The one down side is that WesCat, which is the service I use as a feeder to BART, won't be able to start accepting TransLink untill 2009-2010.
Which probably means 2012-2013.

Although, WesCat being a smaller regional service, might be able to roll out the TransLink service quicker than the behomeths such as AC and BART.

All that being said, I will start using TransLink as soon as BART rolls it out.

hurry up already

my company used to just give

my company used to just give me about $100/month for transportation costs, but they are now switching to commuter check. my plan for now is to buy paper tickets with my commuter check money and use them for about 1/2 the month. when that money runs out, i will use ezrider to get me through the remainder of the month. once translink is implemented, i will make the switch and add my ezrider card with near-mint condition "pilot program" sticker to my growing collection of bart memorabilia.

does anyone know how translink works with commutercheck? specifically, i am looking for answers on:
1) it sounds like i need to take my paper commutercheck and translink card to a redemption outlet to get fare added. is there any way to do some sort of "direct deposit" on to my translink card?
2) once my monthly commuter check money runs out, will it automatically revert to billing my credit card for the rest of the month or do i need two seperate translink cards, one for commuter check and one for credit?
