Good Bart Citizens Do Exist!

This afternoon I was on (and still am on) a Pittsburg/Bay Point train and I was sitting in the last car. When the car started filling up and Powell Station these 4 girls got onto the train and moved to the front (of the last car) and sat down. A few minutes later they were all sitting on top of the seat backs with there feet all over the seats. The gentlemen sittng across from them very politley asked them to sit in the seats and to stop soiling them. They were very rude back asking why they shuould listen to him etc. After a couple of minutes of being very patient and these 4 girls soiling the seats and being very noisy and stubborn he was like ok, then ill call bart police. They got down right away and behaved rather well except for singing the whole way. If only more people stood up to people who are not necesarily doing something illegal but doing something that make our trains dirtyer and less pleasnt to ride.

I hope you mean more

I hope you mean more pleasant not less lol.

I agree this is a good

I agree this is a good thing, but just pointing out, if the people in question were male the guy never would have said anything.

People do things on BART (

People do things on BART ( drugs deals, threaten people, leave their half-eaten meals on seats etc ) cause they can get away with it.

If you let them do what they want, why should they stop.

When you see a bunch of people "hopping" the gates, and you say nothing, why should they stop? They do it cause they can get away with it.

cause YOU let them

No, BART police let them

No, BART police let them and, before that it's BART management who sets the enforcement priorities for these police. John Q. Public shouldn't do anything that would put him in jeopardy. A BART police presence that shows it will enforce the rules sets the tone for those who would misbehave just as the absence of this presence says something.

When I said you let them I

When I said you let them I was not implying everyone act like BART vigilantes. Call BART police or tell the station agent when you see something.

You do not have to call BART police for everything, If someone "forgets" their newspaper (or other trash) politely point it out. For other things, call police.

If you do nothing BART is doomed to get worse.
