Dirty Cars and BART Employees
So I got on a newly rehabbed car. Many seat cushions had been replaced. The smell of new carpet was still in the air. Right near the door threshhold, some dumbass BART employee or rider (but I go with employee because it looked like grease) had dumped a puddle of some black greasy crap on the floor and then you could see the tracks where the utility cart had rolled through it. One newly cleaned up car filthed up in an instant.
I don't care how many car cleaners BART hires, if the maintenance workers continue to slop and track grease all over the cars, why bother.

BART employee's need to get
BART employee's need to get their act togeather.
that would be the TVM's,
that would be the TVM's, transit vehicle mechanics.
unlike other trades, the mechanics do have to prove
work experience, but intelligence is not required.
being able to lift heavy objects (like brake calipers) is,
as is being able to put on dirty shoes for work.
nice to know there are jobs upward of 70k for dummies, huh.

About four years ago, BART
About four years ago, BART laid off a large portion of its janitorial staff. Now they are making a big deal about "increasing" the number of janitors, when all they're really doing is upping staffing from the reduction.
No matter how hard someone works, the stations are huge and it just not possible for one person to keep an entire station clean for 24 hours. Even if a janitor works their 8 hour shift, that leaves 16 hours for people to puke, throw soda on the ground, etc.
The only way to get the stations and trains cleaner is to have more people cleaning them.
Everyone gripes that the employees are lazy but if you only have 10 people trying to clean 40 stations it's just not going to happen.
