how much would this ticket cost?

so yea, i was eating on bart. I had to go to the office today (sunday) i just got off, at about 730pm. i was hungry and wanted food and to get home. so i got some food and was eating it on bart. some ass of a cop pulled me off, made me miss two more trains and gave a me a ticket. im not here to say if this is right or wrong, but how much should i expect this to cost.??

I hope that it costs A LOT!

I hope that it costs A LOT!

Glad to see an officer doing

Glad to see an officer doing their job.. BART spends alot of money putting those signs up, if you ignore them, you deserve the ticket.

It's usually between $150-$250 depending on the county. It really should be more so that it's a deterrent. Right now it's so cheap that noone cares about getting a ticket.

You should know better. You

You should know better. You ride everyday and you don't see the sign, "NO FOOD OR DRINK." Yup you deserved the fine.

Not all of them do their

Not all of them do their job. some do. They profile you first. If you look troubled, they'll fine you. But if your good looking, probably not. You have a FREE RIDE.

Haha! Maybe you're the ass

Haha! Maybe you're the ass for ignoring the EIGHT signs on the train car that warn "NO FOOD OR DRINK - VIOLATORS SUBJECT TO FINE."

Bottom line- There is no eating, drinking, or smoking permitted in the stations or the train. COFFEE IS NOT AN EXCEPTION! If you can't go one hour or less without stuffing your face with food or coffee, then drive. I'm sick of seeing people slurp their coffees and spill them or leave their cups or trash laying around.

Save yourself from the embarrassment or delay of getting caught. The BART cops will signle you out, take you off the train and delay you while writing you a $200 ticket.

I expect it to cost enough

I expect it to cost enough money to cause you to think twice before eating and/or drinking on the BART train again. It should cost however much it takes to make you decide the risk is not worth it.

Multiple signs are posted throughout the trains and the system warning riders that eating, drinking, and smoking are not allowed. This includes YOU. You are not special, and you are not the exception to the rule. The rule doesn't fail to exist just because you don't happen to see a BART police officer.

And the BART officer did not cause you to miss two trains. YOU CAUSED YOURSELF TO MISS THOSE TRAINS. Had you followed the rules, and obeyed the laws, you never would have been bothered. You never would have been pulled off the train. And you never would have been cited. You had a choice that evening, and you chose to take the risk of being "inconvenienced" because you chose to disobey the law. Be a mature, responsible citizen and adult, and accept responsibility for YOUR choices, and the consequences you EARNED as a result of YOUR CHOICE! Stop trying to blame someone else for your bad behavior. It's all you, buddy.

Besides, WHY would you even WANT to eat on BART? Have you taken a look at those trains? They are filthy. I can't imagine what kind of filth and germs and disease you're putting into your mouth (because I'm sure you didn't wash your hands right before chowing down). And some of that filth is a result of people, such as yourself, who disregard the no eating/drinking law, and end up spilling food and drink all over the trains, and leaving their trash stuffed under or next to or just on top of the seats.

R u writing a book? Do you

R u writing a book? Do you need more pages.

My only complaint is, BART

My only complaint is, BART Police do not cite people more often! Pay the fine and call it a day. GOOD JOB BART POLICE

If a cop pulled you off, and

If a cop pulled you off, and it took him over 40 minutes to write you a cite--you must of be a serous asshole, with trains running every 20 minutes! Pay the fine

ya i agree, pay the fine.

ya i agree, pay the fine. Unfortunately, there are alot of violators out there and more needs to be done. I've witnessed nasty food droppings on the carpets which tells me lots of riders ignore this warning.

Learn from it and hope more get caught!

BART PD, continue to cite those who violate food/drink/smoking rules. Thank you!

Smoking on the platform has

Smoking on the platform has gotten way out of hand!

all smokers who dare smoke

all smokers who dare smoke on the platform will get their ass kicked when I see them.

If BART PD won't enforce it, I will!

ps: and it won't be pretty

Caltrain lets you eat and

Caltrain lets you eat and drink all you want, yet Caltrain cars are clean. No doubt about it, BART's no-food policy is a good one and I'd love to see it enforced better. But what really makes the difference is how many riders are inconsiderate slobs.

...and what is worse,

...and what is worse, watching people get on the train with a BART id badge and proceed to eat or drink...

Yesterday I say an AC

Yesterday I say an AC Transit bus driver drinking a soda on BART.

I'm a BART employee, former

I'm a BART employee, former Station Agent also. I never enforced it when I saw patrons carrying a cup of coffee onto the train. When I go to work at dark o'clock and I take the train, I'm taking my coffee with me. You know what the difference is between me and probably 50% of the patrons? I'm not going to leave my empty coffee cup smashed between the seats or left on the floor to spill the remainder of its contents. If people picked up after themselves, the trains would not be as dirty as they are.

Good for that cop. Nothing

Good for that cop. Nothing worse than being trapped in a seat while some nasty fucking cow is deep-throating a Big Mac or slurping down some foul-smelling BBQ. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if most of the people who turn BART into their dining car knew how to eat quietly instead of trying to compete with the train's noise level!
