Dog poop on BART - Stations, trains and on the seats - What can we do?
What's BART's current policy with dogs on BART?
Last Friday I was at Balboa Park station where a dog took a dump on the edge of the platform where the train doors open. The owner of the dog left with the dog leaving the poop. People entering/exiting the train werent' expecting it and stepped in the feces tracking it into trains and across the station platform and onto the escalator. I am a regular BART rider and do not want step in dog poop or sit on a seat which might be soiled with dog poop. (By the way this was NOT a service animal.)
Not only is this disgusting it’s a health hazard which can make other BART riders ill The smell of the poop was gaging people making them want to vomit. We don't need dog poop an vomit smells in the train stations or on the trains.
Can we get BART to post public service announcements on the train message boards reminding riders of BARTs pet policy?
And can we get BART station agents and police to enforce the pets/dog policy on BART?
I personaly would like to see the person who's dog pooped get a $2,500 fine. BART has it's issues and smells, we don't need more.
Thank you

If you want to take your pet
If you want to take your pet on BART the magic words are "Service Animal".. No additional paperwork or words needed..
Unfortunately the fine is about $2,300 less than you would like it to be..
you could have always picked
you could have always picked it up...just saying...
At least it wasn't human
At least it wasn't human poop, for once.
