BART releases concept designs for new rail cars
Take a look here:
http://www.bart.gov/about/projects/cars/index.aspx
Though to be honest with you the front of the cab car looks hideous. Hopefully BART ditches concept C though because as much as I would love my train car to look like a modern art exhibit on wheels being overly complicated is what gave us carpet floors and cloth seats (yuck) in the first place.

I like how they are actively
I like how they are actively soliciting public comment. Not just "hey send us a letter if you care" but actually bringing the labs to the public, showing all these diagrams and things on their website, producing surveys, posters on the trains, pretty much every way they can advertise they are doing. It gives the impression that they actually care about what people think.
I will be sad if they move away from the blue and gray scheme. The rainbow colors would make my eyes bleed. I think headrests are a bad idea. Everyone's heads on it? Ew, critter city. I like the idea of center arm rests to help protect my space, but I'm sure there will be people who have problems fitting in them. Overall I think I like the layout of C the best, but I'm not sure if trying to be artsy will be a good idea 40 years down the line. Kind of like the orange and tan in the DC Metro system.
I highly recommend people take the survey mentioned in the news article. It is very detailed and the more opinions the better.
