Graffiti at North Concord BART including vandalism of SUV

NIce Red Hud Graffiti and North Concord BART today; must have been done yesterday. Besides painting the entrance to the station, they painted Fuck You Clyde Frog on someone's brand new SUV as well as the side walk and words like "poop" and "HUD." Real Nice. I hope BART Police catch these creeps and there are made to pay every dime it costs to paint that person's car and fix the entrance to the station. That was really messed up; it is going to cost several thousand dollars to fix that person's car.

I vote when we catch them we

I vote when we catch them we hold them down and spray paint their face the same bright red color. The person with the SUV gets first dibs.

yeah, a little BART street

yeah, a little BART street justice is in order here. besides spraying their face, I'd be up for beating their ass.

doesn't Bart have any

doesn't Bart have any cameras in the parking lot? Is there a parking fee to park at Concord? If so, I understand that BART police can't be there to cover everything. But if they are paying for a fee shouldn't they hire a rent a cop to be security for the vehicles? Take some from riders give back to us.

This is North Concord BART,

This is North Concord BART, not Concord BART. Concord BART has cameras and there is no parking fee to park there. The cameras are in the covered garage not outside. Concord BART still has a problem with break-ins. Most recently, they were breaking into cars at Concord and coming to North Concord to dispose of the stuff they didn't want per BART Police.

If BART is charging for

If BART is charging for parking, they should also take responsibility to ensure that this type of vandalism is not occuring.

very true, though it could

very true, though it could be argued in court whether there's a clause regarding no assumed responsibility, it certainly does follow that charging to park there (and ride the system) implies a certain amount of comfort as to security of property.

Personally I would hire a lawyer right away and get BART to renumerate repair.

fucking kids

fucking kids

If you see them, make sure

If you see them, make sure to wing them with your car. As long as you don't dent your car, the blood will come off in the car wash ;)

this spray paint job was

this spray paint job was done at the north concord site, I come to bart at 5:30 am. and the suv was in actuallity a mini van as i remember, nonetheless.. its going to be costly for them to get the paint removed. There are no camera's covering the lower lot where the van was painted. the bart police make a drive thru on occasion but as always are never in the area when needed. i did not witness the dirty deed being done or i'd happily have provided info as to the perpetrators...

Yeah, the crooks seems to

Yeah, the crooks seems to have BART Police's number on that lot; they steal tires right off of people's cars. They spray-printed every single square inch on that person's mini SUV or whatever it is. They are going to have to have a new paint job and maybe new windows. That kind of paint doesn't come off. I'm wondering if these kids had something against the owner of that vehicle. Anyway, I hope they can get some prints off it and catch these brats. Obviously, they are section 8 if they painting "HUD" and "Poop" at the entrance to the station.

Park at your own risk. Your

Park at your own risk.

Your taking your chances at that parking lot, For those of you who haven't been there, the station is built on a hill. The frist parking lot (at station level) is for HC and car poolers only. For everyone else (including the parking pass holders) need to walk to the end of the frist lot and down a very steep set of stairs.

The van in question was parked in the first spot on the left next to the stairs.

This is got to be one of the worst places to put a parking lot (I know that they didn't have much of a choice when you put a station at the top of a hill). You can't see any of the cars in it from the station or the first lot. The Van could have had the painting done with the bart police in the top lot and they wouldn't even have noticed them.

I'm acually suprised that this type of thing doesn't happen more often at this station.

From what I gather, people

From what I gather, people would like a BART cop in each station, each lot and on every train... Lets do the math:

40+ stations = 40 Cops x 3 shifts = 120 cops
45+ station parking lots and park-n-ride lots = 45 cops x 3 shifts = 135 cops
100+ trains a day (conservative number): 100 cops x 3 shifts = 300 cops

Required manpower per day: 555 cops per day
Actual number of BART POLICE on duty per day: About 70
that leaves about 485 cops needed to do what people ask... not realistic or cost effective. This doesnt take into account vacations, court time, injuries, etc.

Just thought some people could use some prespective.

adding to that previous

adding to that previous comment: does the city where you live have a cop on every corner and is your city 100% crime free?

Even with a cop on every

Even with a cop on every corner a city will never be 100% safe.

If they used CCTV and replaced the lights when they go out would be a great help in making that lot safer. Having a cop or even a security guard at that station wouldn't really work, the lay out is to crappy, way to many areas that can't be easly seen.
