Mehserle Trial

When I first became aware of the Mehserle shooting I was totally convinced that he did it on purpose. But the more I read and hear about it my opinion is changing. I don't think the guy meant to shoot the victim, that being said I don't think he should just walk away from it. What do you guys think?
(I haven't posted on here in a long time and cuz I have been home (UK) my perspective my be a bit different than most I suppose)

There's a radio show,
There's a radio show, nationally syndicated that is dealing with this issue too, along with other issues. If you'd like to check it out, The program is called Issues After Dark on AM1100 KFAX. 9:30pm - 11:30pm Pacific Time. Check out issuesafterdark.org too. I'm the technical director of the company that produces this show. I'll see if I can get you the show where they interviewed some people regarding this case and they should be doing future shows on it.
i think it was a mistake.
i think it was a mistake. when we make mistakes at work, someone can notify us of it and it can be corrected. when a cop makes a mistake, someone ends up dead. does that mean he deserves jail time? i think that the intent should determine jail time - if grant did indeed deserve to be tased but mehserle shot him by mistake, then he should not get jail time.
nice to have you back!
Obvious mistake. It's
Obvious mistake.
It's ridiculous that this is being turned into a race battle when race had nothing to do with the incident.
An officer reporting to the scene of a crime (fight on BART train) made a horrible mistake and fired a gun instead of a tazer.
He should be charged with negligence and manslaughter and placed under house arrest and forced to do community service, but there is *NO* evidence that this was a premeditated, intentional shooting.
