protest planned at Embarcadero Thursday April 8 afternoon

Heads up to everyone - saw a flyer on BART the other day about a protest at Embarcadero station this coming Thursday at 3:30 pm.

Their website www.oaklandforjustice.org says:

"If you normally take BART during afternoon rush hour and cannot or do not wish to participate in the action on April 8th, find the information you need to make alternate plans for public transportation or ride sharing at 511.org."

Alternate Travel Arrangements:
Muni (SFMTA): www.tinyurl.com/yl8efxc
Transbay bus: www.tinyurl.com/yj4ogmh
Ferry service: www.tinyurl.com/ylh6nw3
Trip planner: www.511.org

Knowing how one thing can screw up the whole system, I would probably stay clear of anything other than the Richmond-Fremont line.

Oh the irony.

Oh the irony. "OaklandForJustice" will have to ride BART to get there.

Hopefully the train-sets to & from Richmond will be the un-carpeted, non-plushy seat (i.e. not as easily vandalizable) variety.

I am more amused that they

I am more amused that they are going to SF. Hey let's protest about oaklands problem in other cities.

Can we put them on a bus to Texas, they should go there.

They really have to fuck up

They really have to fuck up the evening commute to keep protesting Oscar Grant's death eh? Gees guys, can you protest outside the station. It's like those retarded college (probably UC Berkeley) students that decided to play Frogger on 580 during rush hour when they were protesting the cuts to public education that one day. Your not winning people over by fucking up their commute home, your actually turning them off. But common sense is rare these days among protestors.

Sounds like wishful thinking

Sounds like wishful thinking on the part of the organizers. "Hey guys our protest is going to be so huge and far-reaching that it will disrupt your commute so you should find another way home on that day." I get there will be at most 50 people protesting above-ground somewhere near Embarcadero.

Well, if the

Well, if the protesters/disrupters do get arrested, they'll be transported to nearby Hall of Justice or to a local pier. Much easier than being transported to Santa Rita.
