So Much For Longer Trains
I got to del Norte station in time to catch the 7:30-ish train. Normally BART runs an 8-car SF/Millbrae train, which is not enough cars for a normal commute. This is interesting, because on the three days per week that I have to catch the 6:15 a.m., train, it is a 10-car train. Whatever, BART, whatever.
So you can imagine my gratitude when I saw that a 10-car SF/Millbrae train was approaching. I walked to the spot for the last car. But alas, it was an 8-car train. By MacArthur, people could no longer push themselves on, and were left on the platform. And each station we entered announced a "10 Car San Francisco Millbrae Train Now Boarding."
What gives, BART?

Well there could have been a
Well there could have been a problem with the train that required the train operator to load a train length of 10 into their LCD, which means they would have been making stops at the end of the platform. Signs are usually very reliable out of Richmond because the readers that scan the trains as they come out pick up the train length. Not sure that is the answer, but its the only explanation I have.
I'm with you on the train
I'm with you on the train length and constantly late trains. We ride home at midnight squished like sardines; people cannot even board the dam train.
When I came in this morning on the 10:4x out of concord, standing room only by Pleasant Hill. Sign says 10 car train, 5 car shows up.
I'm really angry at BART for degrading our service this way. It isn't any better for the T.O.'s either. It's dangerous and it's a magnet for criminal activity on Friday nights.
People are scared they aren't going to be able to get home because we can't board.
I think they either need to get direct service to Richmond going OR GET FUCKING LONGER TRAINS YOU BUNCH OF STUBBORN BART ASSHOLES.
I thought day riders had it better than night riders, mistaken, SERVICE SUCKS FOR EVERYBODY RIGHT NOW.
