You fell for phony budget deficit

Well you all fell for the phony "BART budget deficit" which allowed them to cut personnel, train frequency and raise fares. Meanwhile management gave itself a 3% raise last year, more than $400,000 in bonuses, a lucrative travel budget to exotic resorts, approved a $500,000,000 Oakland People Mover -- and stuck workers and riders with the bill. Why does BART have a 8-member PR department? To convince YOU that it's all in your best interest. Keep your eye on the elected BART Board of Directors. They're robbing you blind.

$20 says you are, or are

$20 says you are, or are related to, a union member.

Agree.

Agree.

Same bet You , a family

Same bet You , a family member or friend is a Union member as well.

And not the original point...not that it matters ....any chance to bash a union right?

Distract and demonize...classic.

You owe me 20 bucks, Bart

You owe me 20 bucks, Bart Blows, please send to Transform, which is trying to convince BART to spend $40 mil on the Oakland Airport Connector instead of $500 mil to do the same job. I'm a transpo geek astonished by the lack of information gathering by the media during the recent contract period. Instead of using these opportunities to bash unions (probably too much to ask from two people named "Bart Blows" and "Bart Sucks"), I think it would be best to exert leverage and make the system better. We just lost train frequency, got hit with a fare hike, and will pay $12 roundtrip to get to the Oakland Airport from the Coliseum stop. And this is the workers' fault?

That information was all out

That information was all out there, as was the insanely high salaries that BART employees were getting for poor service and "dangerous" work like pushing a button to get a door to close.

Everybody hates the OAC. Everybody agrees that management gets paid too much. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about it, and just because management sucks doesn't mean the employees were't overpaid as well.

I'm quite annoyed at the

I'm quite annoyed at the reduction in service, ACTUALLY REALLY ANNOYED, and I will be doing my best to get each and everyone of the Board Members off the Board when the next election comes. Hopefully, BART personnel will be TELLING US who to vote for. I will be asking my T.O and Station Agent (whom I've been missing at Concord lately).

At least I haven't had to stomach Linton lately. ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Hope he's riding, nasty, untimely BART with the rest of us, and sitting on someone's gum in that nice expensive suit that none of us BART riders can afford.

The trains haven't been on time since the service reduction.

Technically service wasn't

Technically service wasn't "reduced"--it was just returned to its previous level. Personally, I think BART should close its budget gap by completely eliminating Sunday service (or cut service to once an hour or less). The trains are mostly empty on Sunday anyway. Of course, they can make exceptions for things like Bay to Breakers, Chinese New Year, Gay Pride, etc.
