Complaint Forms re Train Operators, Station Agents, etc.
I've been riding Bart for 17 years from East Bay to SF and I've never once complained but I'm going to start complaining, especially about train operators that don't keep us informed. Per the Bart website, the correct way to make a complaint is to ask the station agent for the prepaid comment card. Or, you can write to Bart at: Bart Customer Service, 800 Madison Street, Oakland, CA 94607 Or, call at 510-464-7134 or go on line and state your complaint at: www.bart.gov/guide/overview/riderfeedback.asp

Hopefully you're talking
Hopefully you're talking about the train operator this morning who didn't even tell us why we were delayed for 45-minutes.
Yup, that's the operator I'm
Yup, that's the operator I'm going to make a formal complaint about. On the average 99% of the train operators are great about keeping the riders aprised.

yeah, she was HORRIBLE!!!!
yeah, she was HORRIBLE!!!! I'll complain too.
Stop snitching
Stop snitching
people who do not report
people who do not report problems or crimes are doomed to live in the ghetto that they create.
I agree! People need to
I agree! People need to know their neighbors..
Anyway..
This morning the Train Operator or the Central people should explain any delay over 10 minutes.. Not knowing whats going on can be scary sometimes for people. An update would have helped to where I could jump off and catch a cab if I'm close to work.
10 minutes is too long - it
10 minutes is too long - it should be anything over 1 minute which, I believe, is what they are suppose to be doing.
That would be unreasonable..
That would be unreasonable..
That would be ever kid holding a door, every train operator waiting for someone to get to the door (I say hit the button lets go! also.), everytime the train has to slow down when it rains.. It would be a constant stream of anouncements for this train or that..
It's easy to delay a train for a few minutes..
When you say "stop
When you say "stop snitching"...it seems like extortion...or organized crime.
"Don't snitch so we can do whatever we want."
As was so eloquently pointed
As was so eloquently pointed out before, remain quiet when faced with comtemptable behavior and be doomed to live in the mess you assisted to create. It is quite amusing the forcefulness and "bravery" of those who choose not to act and who cajole those who do, again all with the shield of anonymity and lack of responsibility.
Perhaps it would have been better that those who took a stand during Flight 93 just should have quietly kept to themselves and not interfered with the hoodlums controling their plane. I'm not equating the acts of bike riders on BART to terrorists, but if everyone is quite, and rules are broken, what good are rules?
Rules are laws. Laws are born from mores (pronounced "more-ays") or societal morals. Society places values on topics of concern and soon those mores are codified or placed into written, defined language defining proper conduct. It is because they are based on these societal morals, that ignorance of the law is not an excuse for the breaking of a law. It is expected that the society is smart enought to understand that their impact on the rest of society and it's concerns should be sufficient to cause one to question their own actions sufficiently.
But who is it going to hurt when I bring my bike on a crowded train? Well, if all goes well, few. If there were an emergency, perhaps more than a few. A quick stop, and the bouncing around that you get on some trains, could be a passenger or two scraped or cut... long and short of it is simply consideration. Consider your impact on society. Consider you're in those shoes you see as your "obstacle"... when we as a society give up, and choose not to speak up when not given proper consideration, we loose all right to it.
That's my 2¢ on the matter...I'm sure "Anonymous" has something educated and eloquent to add
I thought you were Anonymous
I thought you were Anonymous
good catch. Sorry, thought I
good catch.
Sorry, thought I had been logged in...
While that may happen from time to time, where people thought they were logged in and weren't... a majority of the posts here from "Anonymous" are those who'd rather scream from the crowd, hoping to hide from the responsibility of their comments.
I for one feel that one should have the conviction of their opinions enough to express them without hiding from their retractors. If you leave it to shouts from the crowd, you errode the chances of finding common ground on any topic at any time...but I am also convinced those who choose to be "Anonymous" want exactly that, no common ground, no chances to correct that which is wrong.
Again, all counted up that makes it 4¢ for today...and for some worth just as much.

Apply for the job..
If it's so overpaid.. They've been hiring for the last year.. Must be a gold mine, they must not do anything at all..
Someone enjoys bashing others jobs.. Sad.
just because one operator is
just because one operator is not doing his or her job does not mean they are all not doing there job, I have been riding bart for 20 years and I can say that there are several train operators that do a great job.
A bad experience from time
A bad experience from time to time is much more memorable than the hundreds of times you may have good experiences or everything is functioning properly.
People remember the bad.
The agents catch quite a bit of grief for anything that goes wrong, from trains to tickets. They love my demagnetized tickets..
I have complained once about an employee, after I had a 2nd bad experience. I'll send in comments from time to time about quality of life issues. They sent me a BART ticket once to say sorry.
