BART SPENDING
What will happen after this whole BART thing is over, is the workers will end up giving a little,but BART will make up for it by SPENDING as usual on EXPANDING when they cant afford to, I should of said the public cant afford to, It will give BART just that much more money to spend, and then comes the next rate increases,and they will need more money, again a strike will be in the future each time the contract comes up,and on and on it goes, the only way it will stop is to have an independant board watching how they spend there money. I think if your look real close someone or something is getting very wealthy on this animal called BART.

They are NOT hired by BART.

You were almost correct, it's not like BART is going to spend less money. But I don't know how much more independent a board can be when elected by the people.

Interesting point .. those BART directors are way down in the "yeah, whoever" portion of the ballots. The unions are very good at getting out the machine vote when they want; why aren't they loading the BART board with pro-labor types? Seems like an easy win..

They used to assess us monthly on top of the normal union dues just to pay the attorneys to defend when the company violated the contracts. There was no extra PR money, they can't afford the hundreds of thousands BART pays for a Linton type PR machine.
I have to disagree with you
I have to disagree with you about the Union not having money. Two thousand union members paying $1,000 a year in dues is $2 million a year in dues. We could spend $100K on P.R., just as BART is doing, which would only be 5% of the dues collected.

You can disagree with the union having money, but if the members are getting assessments each month because they are SHORT on money, even if it's 1% of the dues collected. Yet you claim the union has lots of money, hmmm, I don't get why you think a union with plenty of money woud be assessing their members over the amound of money paid by dues.

They would ask the membership to pay more to pay the bills. That appears as if the union needs to raise the dues because THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY.
Maybe another way, If you pay 1000 in mortgage, and every month you ask daddy to pitch in 100 to cover the bills. That would mean you would not have money to pay a PR Person.

Well, if your satisfied with the presant BODs thats fine but I think they should all be RECALLED, especially THOMAS BLALOCK the head of this GANG, He is dedicated to expanding BART SOUTH,He is also a life member of the Society Of Civil Engineers, if that doesnt tell you something, than you need to move in with the MASTER CHIEF, one of you two could tell the other what to think and thats not a whole bunch.
