I would have to walk a mile to an AC transit bus, take it over the bridge to Berkeley or Oakland, call and wait for a kind coworker to pick me up. It would take about an hour if there were no traffic, which, if BART strikes, there definitely will be. At night, I would have to have a coworker drop me off to take another transbay bus from Oakland at midnight. I would be afraid for my safety to be honest.

I would guess that a lot of people are in similar situations.
Even if they could drive across the bridge, there's nowhere to park in the city, which is the whole reason most people who own cars use BART to begin with.
The BART system is really more of a utility than a luxury, and while I appreciate that the workers want to have their voices heard, they really shouldn't be allowed to strike.

Hell yeah it will. I won't be able to go to work in order to earn my paycheck at BART. So all these "bargining in good faith" groups must get their act together and come to an agreement that works for management and union. I am tired of reading what the media has to say or what Linton Johnson says or what BART employees salaries say about indiviudals. Last place you will find me is out on a picket line holding a sign.

It will be interesting to see what people do that live in Orinda and further out in CoCo County with no A/C Transit or other bus service to SF or Oakland if BART goes on strike.

It would be a RPITA .. I guess this might be the impetus to get a TransLink card and start using the AC Transit bus.

I'd actually get a pretty sweet deal if BART went on strike. I'd be sitting comfortably in my favorite recliner with my laptop working from home.

If BART goes on strike I'll just take a short vacation and/or work from home.
I'd actually be more productive from home anyway, but unfortunately my supervisor prefers face-to-face meetings since he's old school.

The last thing any bart
The last thing any bart employee wants to do is strike. It's a lose/lose situation. Nobody wins. My family and the public.
I really wish either the
I really wish either the Union or Management would break ranks and post the full text of their proposal.
Being able to see EXACTLY what each of the proposals is would probably change public perception of the issue a lot.
Both sides are relying far too much on secrecy.
