Tourists already pay excessive hotel taxes & (if they don't ride BART) a car rental surcharge. Gotta get their dollars any way we can.

Still cheaper than a tank of gas round trip or as was mentioned a shuttle or taxi ride. I agree it's real high! I had a hard time shelling out $7.90 when I was commuting from PBP to SFO for work. But there was really no other economical option. Even now if I was flying out of SFO I would only consider taking the train because it makes the best sense in terms of what you will spend in getting to the airport and parking fees. Tourists will spend whatever looks like a deal. A $10 BART ticket over a $30 van ride is a good deal. That portion of the system is under used as it is. What other ways do you see to increase revenue down there?
I feel bad for the people who
I feel bad for the people who work at SFO and have to travel the whole line to get there. It's bad enough they have to spend an hour and a half on the train, they're getting tourist taxed too.
I hope SFO gives their employees commuter checks or something to compensate

If it is still offered by BART, employees at SFO will receive a 50% off card valid for trips INTO the airport only. So that, while not a great savings does help. Not if who, if any of the vendors/airlines/companies at the airport off Commuter Check or not. All that was required for the 50% off card was a valid ID from SFO.
