WHY WAS THERE SUCH A LAME STATION AGENT AT MONTGOMERY THIS MORNING AT 4:20 A.M.? SHE COULDN'T OPEN THE GATES AND I MISSED MY TR
BART is supposed to open at 4:00 a.m., not 4:30, am I correct? Stupid fat ass station agent who moves slower than molasses and couldn't even open up the station to let the patrons in. I missed the 4:24 after being stuck at work since 3:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, was exhausted and just wanted to get home, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, stupid lazy late station agent can't even do her job.
HER BLACK FAT LAZY ASS HASGOT TO GO!

Couldn't have happened to a
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
These are the kind of BART
These are the kind of BART riders who will pry doors open or attempt to blockade them for their brainless friends despite the TO telling them that it will cause the doors to fuck up and ruin the commute for everyone else on the train.
I think this guy is saying
I think this guy is saying the Station Agent was late in physically opening the actual station, not referring to the doors on a train.
Union will protect her from
Union will protect her from getting canned... unfortunately.
If the Station Agent was late
If the Station Agent was late a certain number of times in a certain period (not sure of the specifics) they can (and should be) fired. In fairness, everyone is occasionally late to work through things they cannot control and I don't think someone should be fired for being late once.
Ack, I am glad none of you
Ack, I am glad none of you work at my company..
Wow none of you have ever been late?
I was actualy late today... Kinda makes me happy none of you are a boss of me, I might be unemployed right now..
"Wow none of you have ever
"Wow none of you have ever been late?"
Yeah, I'm late plenty. I'm a desk jockey. If I'm late I just catch hell from my boss. If a station agent is late, they make other people even later. There are certain jobs where you can't be late. That's just one of the side effects of working in customer service.
How much lateness is
How much lateness is tolerated often depends what kind of job you work. I've worked both jobs where I was dealing with outside people and jobs in which I wasn't.
Like was said, if you have to provide service to outside people then lateness is bad. People will dump you and use your competitors. Nothing ticks people off more than a flaky business. Unless there is an emergency or some kind of notification, flaky employees should be dumped.
I had more flexiblity in jobs not dealing with the public. I had to be at work during core hours (like 10am-4pm) for meetings and things, but come in at 10 am and leave at 6 or 6:30 (depending on lunch breaks and stuff) or come in at 8 am and leave at 4 or 5. People didn't really care as long as they knew what to expect and I arrived and left near the same time every day.
Whether you're working for an hourly wage or a salary changes things. With salary you'll often stay extra during crunch time that you're not paid for, but then when it's slower you might be able to take some comp time or at least get flexibility to take time out to do some personal errands or things during work hours when you need to.
My experience, anyway.
On a side note, I just want
On a side note, I just want to point out the negative descriptors that were used..
Black fat lazy ass..
Someone closet racism? (or do we believe it is a the positive descriptor)
I understand Fat and Lazy Ass both being choices, but ...
And, the agent.. Was it the agent? or was it someone called in at the last minute to replace the agent? You must have had a bad experience with that agent before, We would love to read about it since your opinion if her is so foul.
Yeah that's why my post
Yeah that's why my post implied that maybe the person deserved to be made late for work.
You must have a personal
You must have a personal thing against the agent. what time does the first train headed in your direction depart the station? Is this the regular agent or is she an extra-board having to fill-in or is this their RDO and they received the call late. Could it have been a forewoker opening the station or did this person have to open the entire 3 block station by themselves therefore taking longer than it normally would have to open up? Some things to think about before passing superficial judgements on someone. Why is race one of the first criticisms from people who hate when blacks site race?
