BART files court documents stating that Grant was not entirely "innocent"

Additionally, in the comment section, there was a link to another site I hadn't previously seen, which I think is worth checking out, in the interest of having both sides of the story (since media outlets such as KTVU are doing a great job of covering the Grant/Burris side of things) http://www.tonypirone.com/home

Kudos to Officer Pirone for

Kudos to Officer Pirone for putting up his own web page. I feel BART should have issued their response long ago; they had a duty to diffuse the protests and they lagged -- the usual BART way. Of course, anyone who doesn't have an ulterior or monetary motive knows this was a tragic accident. They need to reduce the charges against Mesherle. At the very most, it was involuntary manslaughter. Grant and his low-life crack buddies brought this on themselves and the Grant family doesn't deserve a dime for his thuglet kid. SHAME ON THAT AMBULANCE CHASING ATTORNEY BURRIS. P.I. and criminal attorneys are the low lifes of legal. Usually, they can't get a better job in the legal profession so they end up ambulance chasing or bilking Civil Rights.

I think because of all the threats against Officer Mesherle and his family, he's been through enough and all charges should be dropped period against him, as well as the wrongful death lawsuit. They never should have been filed in the first place without a complete investigation. What's up with that? Talk about reverse discrimination and a rush to judgment.

I think the female officer should have tasered those a-holes in the face; that would have shut them up and made them comply. They weren't complying and they were fighting on the train.

BART, should END extended New Year's hours; too much liability now thanks to Oscar Grant and his low life buddies. In the old days, people knew how to conduct themselves appropriately. It is obviously too dangerous for BPD too. Think of all the man hours and money that have gone into this investigation; pisses me off when we need new BART trains and more officers to ride the trains to control these thieving thuglets. I am very disappointed in BART for NOT standing up for their own. That will leave a bad BART taste in my mouth for life.

And to stinky black hobo man that had to come and sit next to me yesterday in an empty car, show some fucking respect and take a shower. You stunk up half the fucking car. Then there's Mr. Black pandhandler on the 12:09 a.m. BART last night. Boy did the woman next to me bite his head off, YEAH! Then he gets off at Embarcadero, mind you it is 12:11 a.m. so I guess he really didn't need that $4.00 for a BART ticket like he said. He was already on BART anyway without paying obviously. Why don't blacks have to pay to ride BART like everyone else? Oh yeah, they don't have follow the rules like everyone else. They get the "racism" thug pass.

Cut your racist bullshit,

Cut your racist bullshit, please. Seriously. Panhandlers come in all shapes, sizes, and races. If you had half the gall you try to display by suggesting something about someone's race and special privileges, you would've said something to him. You didn't. You're a coward.

I was with you all the way...

I was with you all the way... until the last paragraph.

What did the race of the hobo have to do with anything? The panhandler?

Whether I believe Grant's family is over-playing the race card (which I do) or not is irrelevant. The criminal trial against Ofc. Mesherle should be colorblind. Do I think it will? No, but I can hope. What happened that night was tragic, not only is a man dead (and no police officer WANTS to use deadly force - ever) another man's career has been ruined, and yet another hangs in the balance. Even after he's cleared, will Tony ever be able to perform his duties without people judging him based on these horrible and untrue allegations against him? Doubtful.

But I can hope...

This is far from some regular

This is far from some regular civil procedure people are arrested charged and sued all the time because of wrongful deaths. You can't just say you didn't mean not to kill someone.
