"Major" Protests in San Francisco?

We just received the below in an emailed flyer from our building management. I really, really want to get home tonight. Anyone from within BART know any more?

We have been in communication with our contacts at BART today. During critical moments in BART’s history, dissatisfied groups of people have used the BART logo to issue false information. It appears that in the aftermath of the January 1st BART shooting incident, that a number of rumors and fliers are circulating about planned protests and passenger safety issues.

There are rumors of a major BART protest scheduled for later today in San Francisco, we cannot confirm location or a time. However, BART has told us that they are staffed to facilitate a smooth commute.

Although these rumors have not been confirmed, the best advice we can give to our members is to continue checking with your local media resources:

The information about incidents and disruptions that is found on the TMA website comes from Caltrans, CHP, and local transit agencies. We do not generate the information that is available from our real-time map.

We believe the most appropriate way to determine the credibility of rumors is for each rider to check with local media and the transit agency websites rather than to rely solely on questionably worded announcements from any group at this time, regardless of the apparent logo on the announcement.

When and if the TMA receives a notice that we can absolutely verify about a planned action or closure, we will first notify the building management members who will then in turn be able to forward them on to you.
