Oh, BART

Lady, if you're saying "Excuse me, excuse me" at the MONTGOMERY stop and expect people to move out of your way, you've got to be kidding me. Apparently you didn't notice the 15 people all standing by the exit (nearly all of them were actually standing to leave, too). The rest of us have to get to work too, ya know.

Another lady stopped right in front of the Dublin/Pleasanton train today when the train dinged and signaled the door was about to close. Some guy just managed to squeeze in, getting his wrist caught. As she put it wisely, "I'm not getting smacked by a door!"

Why oh why, even when I aimed for the first car, there are still no place to sit? I just might have run and take the train to Civic Center and grab a seat there, sigh.

And why is it such a big deal if people aren't dropped off at the drop off part of the Union City parking lot? The people who are have permits probably aren't trying to take a train at 7 AM. I know there's a drop-off area, but it's a lot closer to be dropped off in the permit area. Besides, BART didn't used to care before...

Great to see another Montg.

Great to see another Montg. station person. I usually arrive at 7am and leave at 4pm. What times do you arrive and leave? I've heard the "excuse me - excuse me" before and people usually look at that person in disgust and say "we're getting off here too."

The old double back trick is what my coworker used to do when she lived in Walnut Creek. She would take the train to Civic Center just so that she can get a seat. She didn't want to stand the whole way.

Don't feel guilty about the Double Back. I'm a Civic Center person who takes advantage of Mongomery by using the short-line train as my backup in the morning so I don't have to stand all the way to work. I just hop on the next Daly City or whatever train comes through next. It all works out in the end.

I'm more of an 8-5 person. I didn't say anything to that lady, but she got some "Who do you think you are looks?" from people.

Today I didn't actually go back to Civic Center (since I get a ride back from the station to home), but I'm glad I'm not the only one!!
