BART to Berkeley... Tips?
Will be going to the Berkeley Theatre this weekend and am having a tough time figuring out if it's better to drive or park at a BART station and take the BART in.
I'm coming from San Jose so if I were to take the BART... I suppose I'd have to pick one up at the Fremont station or somewhere else along the way to Berkeley.
Does anyone have suggestions as to which station is the safest to park your car (and walk from the station to your car) if I won't get back until after midnight (alone?)
Or if you have parking tips for UC Berkeley, that would be great too.

You can take BART to Downtown
You can take BART to Downtown Berkeley and take a 7 or 51 up Durant to Bowditch. Just a side note though, AC Transit doesn't run as often on weekend evenings, so you might be waiting as long as 15-20 minutes for a bus. There is a new plasma display that shows upcoming bus arrivals right when you come out of the escalators at the station. Look for the 7 Rockridge or 51 Broadway. If you don't mind walking, you can just walk up the hill on Bancroft and you'll hit the campus. It's about a 15-20 minute walk.
It's the weekend and rush is still going on since the semester just started, so there will be plenty of people walking around campus. It will be pretty safe to walk around.
Pretty much all street parking around the south side of campus is 2 Hour Parking except by permit until 6pm. After 6pm, spots can get taken up quickly, but spots will open up from time to time. I believe you can also buy day permits for the parking lots and garages around campus. If you need more parking info, http://pt.berkeley.edu

I'm not sure what you mean by
I'm not sure what you mean by the "Berkeley Theatre." If you're going to the Berkeley Rep, that's a few steps away from the BART station entrance at Shattuck and Addison.
In that case, what I'd do is drive to the North Berkeley BART station, park there, and ride one stop south. North Berkeley is quite safe, and it's also walkable from downtown (a bit under 1 mile) if you happen to get out late enough that you miss the last train.
Sorry, I meant to say,
Sorry, I meant to say, Berkeley Greek Theatre...
Does anyone have any information on the Rockridge station? Someone suggested parking there and getting down to the Berkeley campus.
Any thoughts on that station? Safe to be at late night?
Rockridge is one of the safer
Rockridge is one of the safer stations. It's located in the Rockridge shopping district - pretty posh and upscale. It's not too far from UC Berkley, but there are closer stations (Downtown Berkley). Advice for parking on campus? Don't.
