ooh! New looking bart tickets
Did anyone else notice the new bart tickets?
I must say they look very modern. It looks like on the back they are going to put advertisements. Does this mean that my roundtrip fare will be cut in half?

Supposedly. I saw 3 people with demag'd tickets within ten minutes this morning, though! All 3 had the "modern" ones. I think they're slightly thicker and the magnetic strip is encoded a different way (not sure how).

I use EZ Rider and didn't even know they were new when I needed to buy one. I like that there's 3 arrows.

i'm sure they're not the only
i'm sure they're not the only 3. i bought one yesterday (i try to get it earlier since I don't think well in the early AM). Used it to get in the fare gate this morning at 4:30, no problem. Used it to pay for parking, no problem. Fell asleep on the BART, and got off at 16th Mission. . . voila, the agent told me that it was demagnatized. . . I can only assume that it was some nasty gremlins running past me in an empty car with a high powered magnet while I slept. Hope this is not an endemic problem, but based on what you're saying, something needs a-fixin'

The tickets are new, but they are not harder to demag, try it yourself. I did and the ticket was instant junk, when placed in my money clip.

I have an old look ticket that still has 15¢ on it when I rode BART on 04/19/2007 (I rode on BART for the first time on the 101st anniversary of the 1906 earthquake on 04/18/2007).
I rode the Yellow Line from the Walnut Creek station to Civic Center/U.N. Plaza on 04/18/2007 and Powell Street on 04/19/2007 before the Yellow Line was extended to the SF Airport.
