High on my list:
Since I could only pick one, I picked Cell yell (great term, BTW...)
Damn, they literally are ALL
Damn, they literally are ALL my pet peeves. Wheres "All of the above"?
Vancouver has "Walk left,
Vancouver has "Walk left, Stand right" signs on the escalators.
i picked the escalator one.
i picked the escalator one. would have picked cell yell or the headphones, but i can't hear shit through my headphones so i really don't care. don't worry, i can't hear shit because they are noise isolating (not because i crank up the volume).
I think this whole "Walk
I think this whole "Walk Left, Stand Right" shit is a bunch of nonsense!
Walking on escalators is D-A-N-G-E-R-O-U-S.
Case in point: I was at Embarcadero in June and was on the escalator, standing. Some punk ass kid decided it might be funny to push the emergency stop button. Three people fell down. A man in a suit twisted his ankle.
Not surprisingly, those who fell were those who were walking. Those standing still were only slightly inconvenienced, and spared the public humiliation and possible injury suffered by those "walk left-ers".
It's a safety issue. BART stations are sometimes hit by power outages. Escalators will come to a halt when that happens. Anyone walking will almost surely be knocked down. And then, as they come crashing down, they can potentially injure innocent bystanders.
What I saw at Embarcadero last month is only the tip of the iceberg. Old folks have been injured by people walking on the escalators as they are bumped and knocked down. I hate it when things like that happen.
Walking on escalators only saves you a few seconds, and there are ALWAYS stairs not far away. Yet it can literally mean the difference between life and death.
While it may be true that
While it may be true that standing still is safer than walking, whether on an escalator or standing on the ground..
Stand right is pretty much common courtesy, worldwide..
I have no problem with stander, but stay right.. Same on the road..
After some debate between the
After some debate between the audible music and the "cell yell," I had to pick the audible music. At least with the cell phones, there is a definite terminus to obnoxious conversations when the train dips underground. There is no escaping the inconsiderate twit who has "music" blasting on his speakerphone.
What about those people that
What about those people that insist on boarding the train before those off-boarding have disembarked? That one always gets me. Plus, people standing in front of the door when you are trying to get off the train. I realize you may have to stand, but I can't walk through you. Please make some effort to allow me to get off and make more room for you! Common sense people, please!
God, I hate loud music
God, I hate loud music throughout the train! I remember I was riding once and these two girls were blasting rap music through the car on an iPod player with no headphones! They even had a five year old boy with them and he knew all of those obscene lyrics! Jeez, what does it take to get one peaceful train ride?
Did you call BPD or ask the
Did you call BPD or ask the Train Operator to do so? It's an infraction, punishable by a hefty citation and possibility of community service to "willfully disturb others." It's also illegal to play music through an amplified sound device without headphones.
Call it in. I'd be willing to bed they wouldn't make the same mistake twice.
willing to bed? count me
willing to bed? count me in!!! don't forget your handcuffs!!!

GIGNORMOUS LUGGAGE is up
GIGNORMOUS LUGGAGE is up there too with these friggin five-car Pittsburg Bay-Point Trains late at night. Many people do disembark at 12Th street but still the train is crowded. Last Friday night, SRO train at 11:54, dude with gignormous luggage AND taking up two seats sleeping with his stocking feet on the seats. T.O. notes it is a SRO train, sees creepy dude sleeping with feet on seats and doesn't do anything at all. The Gignormous Luggage is bigger than many humans.
YELL CELL is next for me. I get really tired of these drunken idiots and women those baby's mommas b'ing out their baby's daddy's on the cell phone for an entire 55 minute ride after I've worked all day. Who can chill when you're listening to someone else's fight. There is one woman who rides my train that does this incessantly. On top of that, she mumbles so I'm sure Baby's Daddy can't understand a friggin thing Baby's Momma says.
MUNCHING and GUZZLING is also up there especially when these people won't even pick up their trash and wipe their hands all over the seats.
Audible Music -- when I can hear what song is being played on the entire other end of the car, your iPod is too loud. Also drunk people who think they can sing.

Are you talking about my stepmom?
