BART tests additional trains on Fremont lines
With repairs partially completed, BART is testing the operation of additional trains along a section of track impacted by damage from two May 10 fires. As long as the repaired electronic equipment continues to perform successfully, both the Fremont-Richmond and the Fremont-Daly City lines will operate Monday through Saturday. Completed repairs to one of the two control zones mean that passengers may no longer need to transfer at Bay Fair Station.
During the testing BART will revert to the regular schedule for the Fremont lines with the following exception: at Union City and Fremont stations, northbound trains will leave five minutes earlier and southbound trains will arrive five minutes later than reflected on the schedule issued January 1, 2008.
BART thanks you for your patience as it works to fully repair the damage from the fires at Hayward Train Yard. Because repairs are not yet complete, trains will continue to run at less than full speed between South Hayward and Union City stations. Crews are working around the clock and we hope to restore full-speed service before August 1.
