an old tyme OOOOGA horn would be really cool (and very attention getting), unlike the current "pretty please back up off the platform" electronic beeping.

BART trains also have a seriously loud air horn. It'll definitely get your attention. Maybe you've never heard it because it's only supposed to be used in emergencies like someone on the track about to get run over.
