sic em, bart police!

i didnt believe it myself but who knew? bart police does have narcs on the trains!

this afternoon as we left 12th street on a sfo airport train some idiot sits down opens his bible and starts bothering a lesbian couple. the usual "your going to hell, sinners, blah blah blah" crap. keep in mind these ladies didn't do anything to them though.

an older man stands up and tells him to simmer down. he ignores him and keeps on preaching. the ladies get up and move to another car. crazy man follows. after he sits down in another car two other riders get up and follow. i decided i wanted to see what was going on so followed as well.

as we approach west oakland one of the other people who had followed steps into the next car and talks into a radio.

bible fool makes a gigantic ruckus pacing up and down the train throughout the transbay tube. as we pull in to embarcadero the couple who had been following him show their true colors. one of them (the man) sticks his head out of the car and says "down here, guys". the woman pulls some handcuffs out from god knows where, and in the process exposes a badge and gun clipped to her belt.

the young man asks the crazy guy to stand up and flashes a badge. a few seconds later 3 uniformed cops enter the car, but by this time bible dude is already cuffed. the two narcs and the 3 uniformed guys take the crazy off the train, and the young guy pulls out a radio and goes "tell em hes okay to release from hold." and with that the doors closed and we were off.

i really didnt believe bart cops had undercovers on trains, let alone did they actually do anything or were in the right place at the right time. and what also struck me most was the appearance of the two narcs. without givign too much away there was a middleaged white lady wearing what would appear to be business attire, and a young (very young?) white or latino male wearing "ghetto" street clothes, an Ecko Unltd. shirt and baggy pants, and jordan shoes with a big gold cross around his neck.

wow. gooooo bart police! score one for bpd today.

shock and awe, the look they

shock and awe, the look they have right as a police officer identifies themselves.

I saw what looked like a drunk homeless person tell a guy and his kid no eating.. The dad told the "drunk" to F-off and mind his own business.. He said ok, stood up flashed a badge and proceeded to pull a citebook from his bag.

Was beautiful, kid gets a lesson of responsibility.

Nice. I think Highway

Nice. I think Highway Patrol should take this same approach. I was flipped off by this guy in a truck after jumping in front of me way too close. If I was a cop, I would have tried to revoke his license. Sometimes you wonder how drivers got their license.

That must have been really embarrassing to the father to be fixed like that right in front of his son. Where have all the real fathers gone?

I know there are only so

I know there are only so many BART cops, and BART is a big system, but dang it.... It's great to hear about someone abusing the system, or bothering other passengers being hauled off...

bartish- I know exactly who

bartish-

I know exactly who you are talking about, and I respect that you didn't give away too much information. Chances are you'll see them again on a train some time. Hundreds of people see them every day, and don't know they are police officers. I guess that's good - they only identify themselves when something is wrong.

During most daily commutes, passengers likely pass an undercover officer or two, without ever knowing it.
