What is with all these weekend delays
This is starting to annoy me, it was either last week or the week before, that I get on my train at walnut creek, and we are told we will be holding for a "few minutes". 25 minutes later, we finally move, and the train was a whopping 30 minutes late by the time we get to the city. Now today I go and look, and BARTs site says 20 minute delays on PBP because of Track Maintenance... Can track maintenance not be done in a way that doesn't completely screw up service? Its really an inconvenience... Especially week after week.

I noticed this on Saturday morning. Apparently there was a 10-car train for SFO Airport in 43 minutes? I was thinking that couldn't have made any sense, but if you think about it, it makes perfect sense.
25 minute delay
+ 15 minute headway
= 40 minutes, if the 15 minute headway was being maintained (doubtful).
There was a news story about BART the other day and they were upselling the new 33% service increase. What good can it possibly do if there are 43 minute headways due to delays?
The only time to do maintenance is when BART is closed... or they single-track... which causes major delays.
