TransLink on Muni
UPDATE: TransLink is being tested on all of the rubber tire for Muni. The Muni Metro is still up and running and is not really a problem. If you use TransLink on the rubber tire with Muni, keep in mind the understanding that you do so at your own risk. The system may be "live" but is still being fully installed. Like you can't really drive a car without ALL of the components working.
Try not to make a habit of using TransLink on Muni. It'll help speed up the launch date!

I also was thrown off a couple of times because I used my TransLink card. I also complained to Muni and they told me roughly the same thing as they did to you. I haven't used my card that much since, because I have lots of change that I want to get rid of. I have, however, been enjoying using the TransLink card readers on the Metro faregates. Any word on when Muni is officially going to launch TransLink? I couldn't get a clear answer from Muni.
I've been in email contact
I've been in email contact with the Marketing Director for TransLink at Muni and she said soon. They can't give an exact date due to the fact that if promises are broken, people get disappointed. I finally got them to update the Muni website about using TransLink. I decided not to use it anymore on the buses due to the fact that it's just not ready, really.
Did they stop you after
Did they stop you after paying?
where you forced to pay twice?
If so you should have MUNI send you a refund.
( the suggestion of carrying "back-up fare" is in the case the TransLink Scanner is not working, not so you can pay double )
They did stop me. I just
They did stop me. I just explained that it worked fine and took my fare and they let me board.
