I wish I could say

I wish I could say sometimes... but I seem to hit the gate 30 seconds before the train arrives no matter how hard I try... I don't sweat it on the way home though.

There is no "U" in BART

honestly, i have no idea

honestly, i have no idea when the trains arrive. i have never checked the schedule except for the occasional off-peak hours trip. all i know is that they run every 5 minutes or so during the rush, and i could care less about being a bit late to work anyway. so i guess my vote is for #2. like treo, i seem to ALWAYS be going through a faregate as a train is approaching. at that point, i might as well rush to get on the train, instead of waiting on the platform in the cold for another 5 minutes.

Pretty much the same here.

Pretty much the same here. Since I am rush hour both directions, I catch whatever train I happen to meet up with (within a 10-15 minute window of course).

I'm only worried when I am

I'm only worried when I am running late because of the line at the post office or whatever else. And I worry when I get out of work late. Like, last night I left work at 11:55 for the last train at midnight and I was running top speed! I am totally at the mercy of public transit. Or my bike, but I can't really bike from Dublin to SF!!

there are always the

there are always the all-nighter buses. wheels in the tri-valley operates the 810 to bay fair BART. you can transfer to AC from there, which will take you to downtown oakland. AC line 800 goes from downtown to market st., SF.

granted, your trip will take considerably longer than on BART, but at least you don't have to consider yourself stranded in dublin.

O BARTly?

Because of past (slow downs

Because of past (slow downs ) on the system I give my self a 45 to 60 minute buffer window so being in a hurry isn't really something that I need to be bothered about.

The cool guy that hawks the newspapers at del Norte in the mornings said something very wise to me a couple of years ago...

Never run after a train or a woman...There is always another one coming

So true...So right, yet so wrong.

that extra train at 12:10

that extra train at 12:10 a.m. to the east bay is really nice, as well as having trains every 15 minutes. i never sweat it on the way home unless i get out of work really late. the all night buses are a joke if you live beyond concord and it is $150.00 for a cab so i join the poster above and sprint to the station or stay all night and catch the first train out with all the smelly hobos on it. i hate getting the last train too and having to walk through the deserted parking lot at North Concord which is pretty dark because alot of the lights are out, although overall it is a fairly safe station. was running a bit late last week and had a nice conversation with the BART Police Officer that patrolling the lot. very nice officer who really seems to care what goes on at BART. i appreciated that. i'm always glad to see BART Police in the lot really late at night! i would be a sitting duck if something were to happen out in that far lot.
