Ran out of floor tiles or decorative accent?

I noticed this while getting on my car yesterday. There's blue lino tiles and then all of a sudden - beige tiles. Did they run out of blue tiles? Is this a decorative accent? As I exited my car I looked into the next car and saw that it didn't have the accent tiles - just blue lino tiles.

actually the beige color is supposed to "draw people towards the center of the car" can't imagine how much BART paid some consultant to tell them that....;)

Since we are talking about the choice of color at stations, does anyone know what the hell they were smoking when they decided to give the Laff station bright yellow walls with a purple celling?
