Well I See BART at Least Giving Lip Service to My Suggestions.

I've been noticing a few blurbs here and there in the paper lately about BART's "intention" to "improve" service. They consist of vague allusions to "expanded service" "cleaner facilities" "better customer service" and the like. It smacks of some kind of unaccountable ad campaign to solicit a fatter slice of the state's transportation dollars. In one blurb they mentioned that they were going to hire more BART cops, which if you've read any of my other related postings, seems like a humongous waste of taxpayer and rider money.

I'd like to add/expand this discussion to realistically explore the idea of FREE BART rides.

BART Rage is reasonable.

Okay, I'm originally from Boston and I've ridden some of the trains in NY. We have a light rail/streetcar kind of system in Boston which is pretty damn efficient. It's price is reasonable and the fare is the same regardless of your destination (generally). Transfers are free and easy and there is almost no way to fare evade.
