OAKLAND, Calif. -- Preliminary reports indicate that four or five people suffered minor injuries when two Bay Area Rapid Transit trains collided at the 12th Street station in Oakland Tuesday afternoon, a BART spokesman said.
Injured commuters were being taken on stretchers up escalators and elevators to ambulances waiting on Broadway, and BART officials said one wheelchair-bound passenger may have remained on a train at about 4 p.m.

Are electric-powered scooters permitted on BART?
Submitted by Mikokat on Wed, 08/06/2008 - 2:03amHi, this is something I've been unclear about for a while. I've checked the Bikes on BART rules and they only say that GAS-powered vehicles are not permitted. Are electric-powered scooters/bicycles permitted on BART. I also checked the safety guidelines and it only says that RIDING the items aren't allowed on BART. I'm hoping Shrapnel, Jo Jo, or any other BART employee can give me a straight answer. Thanks!

Even More Police Activity, This Time on the Pittsburg/Bay Point Line
Submitted by Mikokat on Fri, 05/30/2008 - 6:21pmHello everyone! I was riding out to Benicia today and saw that there was a 40 MINUTE delay on the PBP line because of Police activity. What happened? Was there another robbery, or was it more serious, because they were switching all PBP trains back at MacArthur. I ended up riding a Richmond to El Cerrito del Norte and taking a Vallejo Bus. Better than waiting 40 minutes.

Police Activity in Fruitvale
Submitted by Mikokat on Tue, 05/27/2008 - 6:52pmHey! I believe this is my first post here. Anyway, I was riding back home from North Concord to Fruitvale yesterday (5/26/2008) and the Fremont train I was riding stopped short of Fruitvale, stating that there was some police activity in the station and that a train was being held there. Does anyone know what happened? BTW, on the plus side, the T/O pulled up the first car to the platform and keyed us out. That was kinda cool.
